A Little White Shadow

By selectively painting over a forgotten nineteenth-century book, Mary Ruefle transforms an existing text into something entirely new. What remains is a delicate poetry, shaped by absence and memory, and haunted by the trace of its former self.

Presented as a high-quality facsimile of the original aged volume, this work sits at the intersection of poetry and visual art, inviting slow looking and contemplative reading.
